Slowness

[For T—a friend, a muse, an umbrella, a hearth, a hug, a parent, a tear drop, a living moment and much more…]

How long has it been that

You called out, “Stop the world! I want to get down.”?
You have looked out of your beautiful window to the super fast world and the sky stretching beyond and much beyond the matchbox homes to dream of the thousand stories getting written and rubbed off every moment?
You have replayed a number so many times over that it played in your ears long after it wasn’t any longer?
You danced without a care?
You have been in the shower without a count of time and let the water soak every follicle, every hair and every fold of the skin?
You have walked out of office, mid-day, strolled in a park and read a really long story?
You have read out a story to someone?
You have switched off your phone and didn’t check email more than once in a day?
You have written a letter by hand, doodled when you changed your mind and still managed to seal and send it?
You have cooked, dressed up and laid the table out for those special ones without an occasion?
You have twirled and whirled a candy in your mouth as many times as you could, lacing your mouth with its smell, lest it melts over?
You have lost count over a coffee or a wine or an old family album till you realized that it is a different date on the calendar?
You lost count of the day and time?
You have walked out without a destination in mind?
You have bought yourself a rose, given a surprise and gotten wet in the Rains?
You set out to do something but that took its own life and you got carried away?
You played ‘Musical Chair’ or ‘Flying a Kite’?
You have loved the one like it ought to be—slow, celebratory and sensual?

And I know you do, all this and more, calling it ‘lack of focus’….
The Slowness of your Life

Infectious,
In all its means and measures…
